CIP builds, maintains and manages networks of international leaders and experts in the field of knowledge-based business from industry, academia and public actors. These networks supports and interacts to the furthest extent possible with all activities promoted, supported, coordinated or managed by the center and the CIP platform. CIP has an industry partner program with key actors such as Philips, Ericsson and Nestlé, collaborating on multiple levels of education and research activities.
Last week CIP joined our partner Volvo Cars at the IP Seminar arranged by Premier Cercle. CIPs Co-Director Bowman Heiden concluded the first day with a talk on the value of connectivity in the automotive industry and CIPs The Vera Project Manager Anna Holmberg joined int he role as Master of Ceremony. Students from CIP supported educations were also actively involved in the conference, sharing their fresh ideas with experienced leaders from the automotive industry.

Last week CIP was invited to the Managing IPs Corporate Strategy Summit 2019 in London, UK to talk about our equality and diversity project, The Vera Project. Anna Holmberg, The Vera Project Manager, did a keynote speech on the necessity of increasing equality and diversity on the IP and tech fields, and how CIP can act as catalyst for this development. She was also invited to partake in the closing panel on data management where diversity in data was also discussed.

CIP participated in Global IPBC 2019 in Boston
At this years Global IPBC, diverstiy and gender equality was put on the agenda. CIPs Anna Holmberg was invited to speak about CIPs gender equality and diversity project, The Vera Project, on one of the opneing pnaels on “Women in Dealmaking”. She was also one of the leaders of the fully booked Women in IP Board Meeting, where professionals and leaders in the IP field gathered to discuss how diversity and gender equality in the IP field can be improved.
CIPs Co-Director Bowman Heiden also spoke on the panel of IP Hall of Fame inductees and academy members, giving his view on the key developments on the global IP scene.
Anton Svensson from CIP is participating in an upcoming EPO/PRV event on Computer Implemented Inventions in MedTech. For more info check out the event.
CIPs executive education program, Business of Intellectual Property, will commence March 18th-20th in Gothenburg, Sweden. The first module will feature CIP co-directors Bowman Heinden and Ulf Petrusson, along with CIP Advisory Board member Ruud Peters. Mr Peters has a background as CIPO at Philips and is one of the most influential professionals in the IP strategy field. We look forward to welcoming particiapnts from our partner program and additional organizations.
The second module of the program will run June 3rd-5th.

Hoover Institute at Stanford University just started the Hoover IP2 conference “The Market for Regulation in the Internet of Things” and CIPs Co-Director Bowman Heiden has co-developed the program and will participate in the two-day program. More info on the program here.
